We are excited to announce our upcoming program: Tiny Screens Workshop: Arduino, Electronics, and Coding Basics, that will be led by Ksawery Komputery.
No coding experience will be necessary to attend the workshop!
The workshop will be a hands-on coding session facilitated by the artist, who will be traveling to Vancouver for the preparation of his first-ever solo exhibition: 𝗥𝗥𝗚𝗚𝗕𝗕. As an artist who works in the realm of the “PHYgital” (physical and digital), interactive art is a key component in his practice. As such, Enter (2023) and Symphony in Acid (2022)–a collaborative music video project with Max Cooper–will serve as inspirational pieces to participants in the workshop, who will be led by Ksawery Komputery to code their own dynamic interactive artworks.
The artist has crafted a four-hour itinerary that delves into the fundamentals of Arduino electronics and programming, as a segue into the introduction of coding techniques for controlling a monochromatic, 128 x 128 pixel LED screen. Starting with the basics of Arduino, a cornerstone for hobbyists and creators in electronics and coding, participants will learn how to set up the Arduino IDE, write simple sketches (programs), and understand the principles of input/output operations. This foundational knowledge will empower them to bring the LED screen to life, displaying custom graphics.
At the end of the workshop, each participant will be given a certificate of the completion that will be signed by the artist. Spots are extremely limited for this special occasion–reserve your place now!
About the Exhibition RRGGBB
In our modern lives, we’re continually enveloped by the vivid spectrum of RED, GREEN, and BLUE, transmitted seamlessly through the pixels that saturate our screens. With each passing day, our connection to these pixels grows stronger as technology advances, blurring the boundaries between the digital and physical worlds.
CICA Vancouver proudly announces the unveiling of a groundbreaking exhibition showcasing the extraordinary talent of Ksawery Komputery. Renowned for his avant-garde approach to art, Ksawery Komputery brings a mesmerizing fusion of digital innovation and artistic brilliance to the forefront.
